PCAs play a crucial role in supporting patients with daily living activities, ensuring comfort, and promoting overall well-being. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide mobility support, including transferring and repositioning patients safely.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient health, behavior, or needs to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring dietary requirements are met.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry and maintaining a clean living space.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Assist with medication reminders as per care plan guidelines.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients.
  • Transport or assist patients with mobility for medical appointments and errands, as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certification as a Patient Care Assistant, Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in home care, assisted living, or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move patients safely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (if applicable).
